Job summary

JLL Newark, DE seeks a Mechanical Technician to manage preventative maintenance for building mechanical and life-safety systems. You will perform inspections, repairs, and monitoring to keep HVAC and electrical systems operating efficiently while supporting tenant needs.

The role requires 5+ years of HVAC experience, strong tools proficiency, and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed. Collaboration with contractors and a focus on safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience with HVAC control systems.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and work at heights.
• Strong communication to maintain positive tenant relations.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and troubleshoot building issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of mechanical and electrical systems and perform maintenance and repairs (lighting, chillers, boilers, HVAC controls, and life safety systems).
• Monitor contractors and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Record readings and maintain documentation of system performance.
• Maintain preventive maintenance for life safety equipment and respond to issues promptly.
• Communicate professionally with tenants to minimize disruption and maintain service levels.
• Work at heights and use hand tools to complete tasks as required.
• Manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and quality.
