St. Louis County is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform janitorial duties at a county facility. The position operates on a 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of full‑time paid experience in custodial, janitorial, building maintenance or closely related work.
• Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, seal and wax floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets and rugs.
• Collect and dispose of recycling and trash.
• Clean windows and window treatments.
• Refill soap, towel and toilet tissue dispensers.
• Clean and polish handrails, fixtures and elevators.
• Replace defective light bulbs.
• Assist in minor repairs on janitorial equipment.
• Lifting and relocating office furniture and equipment as needed.
• Remove snow from walks, driveways and parking areas.
• Clean and sanitize areas per established procedures.
• Operate light equipment for building and grounds maintenance.

Education

High school diploma or its equivalent

Six months paid verifiable experience in custodial/building maintenance

Valid driver's license
