Job summary

St. Louis County Library in Missouri is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker II to join the Building Systems Group. You will perform repairs and maintenance on library buildings, grounds, furnishings, and equipment to keep facilities comfortable and functional for patrons.

This role includes an on-call rotation, off-hour service, and collaboration with six other staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, trade school, and several years of related experience; a valid driver's

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Trade school and a minimum of two years of job-related experience, or 5+ years in a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Must be able to pass drug screening.
• Possess good record keeping skills.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Commitment to a high level of public service.
• Experience with work order software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality repairs and maintenance of Library buildings to keep district buildings in top working condition.
• Provides prompt and courteous personal assistance and communication with all Library staff to support the Building Systems Group.
• Participates in off-hour service and quarterly building inspections at assigned branches to support operations and minimize closings.
• Assist in library improvements and upgrades to enhance programs and services offered to customers.
• Assists in project organization and maintains readiness to contribute to the Building Systems Group team.
• Contributes to other projects that support the library’s mission and creates a positive environment for patrons and staff.
