Job summary

The Verland Foundation Inc. in Sewickley, PA is seeking a Life Skills Trainer (DSP) to work with one individual daily in a residential setting, with potential involvement in on-site programs and paid work activities.

You will supervise and assist daily living skills, support personal care, behavior management, and participation in goals. A 2pm–10:30pm shift Monday through Friday is available; two weeks of paid training provided. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to constructively handle challenging behaviors.
• Ability to work with individuals who may exhibit non-compliant behaviors.
• Must have patience, self-motivation, and the capability to learn skills to address behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Develop training programs with the team to teach new life skills.
• Redirect and assist with daily living skill duties.
• Document progress using individualized methods daily.
• Implement goals and procedural objectives based on programs.
• Collaborate to develop daily routines, safety routines, and self-advocacy.
