Job summary

Verland is seeking a Life Skills Trainer to work with an individual in a residential setting in Natrona Heights, PA. The role focuses on supervising and teaching daily living skills, including hygiene, leisure activities, and behavior management.

The non-exempt, hourly position supports the individual daily and may involve job program activities at the main campus. The trainer collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, documents progress, and participates in trainings.

Qualifications

• Patience to handle challenging behaviors.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to complete offered training.
• Good writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs to teach new life skills.
• Redirect and assist the Individual with daily living tasks.
• Document progress daily using individualized methods.
• Support memory care and behavior management plans.
• Coordinate with Psychiatry and other teams as needed.
• Attend IPP meetings and trainings as scheduled.
