Qualifications

• Observe, test, analyze, and isolate trouble sources in automotive systems.
• Proficiency with electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Replace parts and rebuild automotive systems and components.
• Record information and complete repair paperwork and estimates.
• Work safely with others and without direct supervision.
• Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose operating difficulties on a variety of vehicles and perform checks on engines and major subsystems.
• Perform computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment; interpret codes and data.
• Conduct road tests before and after maintenance; annotate vehicle problems.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning vehicles from road calls and identify faulty parts.
• Maintain, update, and manage vehicle maintenance records and labor hours.
• Provide technical guidance to mechanics on difficult repairs and computer-aided diagnostics.
