Job summary

DMC University Laboratories, Inc. in Detroit, MI is seeking a Lab Technician to join a high-reliability team delivering accurate pre- and post-analytical support in a busy clinical setting.

Under supervision, you will prioritize specimens, assist with blood draws when ordered, enter data into the LIS accurately, and maintain a clean, organized work area while complying with OSHA safety guidelines and company values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum six months of medical training or healthcare-related experience.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Customer service experience in a service environment preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification is preferred for phlebotomists.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and process patient specimens per safety guidelines.
• May draw blood samples according to physician orders.
• Enter and review laboratory data accurately in the system.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area and stock supplies.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals about procedures.
