DMC University Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technician Student to support routine clinical laboratory testing under supervision at our Detroit facility. The role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, data recording, and collaboration with medical staff.

Under supervision, you will perform qualitative and quantitative tests, maintain equipment, and participate in safety and quality control procedures in a high-volume lab environment.

Qualifikationen

• Currently enrolled in an Accredited Medical Laboratory Science Program.

Aufgaben

• Performs routine clinical laboratory tests of a repetitive nature, typically limited to one laboratory section.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records of specimens received in the laboratory; prepares media, stains, reagents and other solutions used in tests.
• Analyzes test results; relays results to physicians and other authorized personnel.
• Maintains, calibrates, and operates automated, semi-automated and computerized laboratory equipment; performs quality control checks.
• Obtains specimens from patients (e.g., blood) and transports to the laboratory; ensures proper handling and labeling.
• Maintains compliance with lab safety, OSHA accreditation and regulatory requirements.
