Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Kitchen Program Assistant for the Weinberg Housing and Resource Center in Baltimore, MD. This on-site role supports meal preparation, service, and a clean kitchen in a busy emergency shelter, with a focus on dignity and respectful resident interactions.

You will work 3:00 PM–11:00 PM on weekends and holidays, coordinating with staff and volunteers to ensure nutritious meals, proper food safety, and smooth daily operations while maintaining a

Qualifications

• One year of related experience preferred, especially with homeless populations.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
• ServSafe certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
• Ability to use basic computer systems, email, and online training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals that support resident health.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment.
• Monitor and record food temperatures.
• Receive, organize, and store donated food and supplies.
• Manage inventory and stock kitchen areas for daily needs.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to coordinate meals in a team-oriented environment.
• Provide respectful assistance to residents while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Follow WHRC policies and food-safety practices.
