Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking an Intake Admissions Coordinator to support patients and referral sources, arranging timely access to treatment services and conducting pre-admission screenings.

You will document intake and insurance information, coordinate with clinical staff, and communicate levels of care clearly. This on-site role requires compassion, attention to detail, and professionalism in fast-paced settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy required; Google office products a plus.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency and 12 step programs a must.
• Past experience in substance abuse treatment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcomes clients and their families, explains the Intake process, and builds rapport.
• Explains levels of care offered to potential clients and families.
• Screens for exclusionary criteria and handles medical or clinical inquiries with supervision.
• Verifies benefits with insurance representatives and documents information in Salesforce/Aura.
• Completes verification of benefits and ensures accurate data in systems.
• Maintains professionalism in stressful situations and communicates effectively with referral sources.
