Job summary

Canopy by Hilton Grand Rapids Downtown is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a part-time, evening-focused role (approximately 2 days per week). You will maintain and repair equipment, fixtures, and property, while supporting preventative maintenance programs and safety standards.

Ideal candidates bring maintenance experience; hotel experience is a plus but not required. The position emphasizes guest comfort, safe operations, and timely responses to work orders.

Qualifications

• Some maintenance experience preferred.
• Hotel experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance work orders by guests, employees, and supervisors.
• Maintain, repair, and overhaul equipment and property. Report problems to General Manager
• Paint walls, ceilings, fixtures, building, and equipment to prevent corrosion
• Hang wall fixtures, replace light bulbs and filters, and shampoo carpets
• Walk the property—interior and exterior, every morning and evening
• Conduct preventative maintenance according to preventative maintenance log schedule
• Conduct daily inspections of hotel and determine maintenance needs
• Maintain all sidewalks and keep them clean and clear of debris and/or snow and ice
