Job summary

The Canopy by Hilton Grand Rapids Downtown is seeking a full-time Restaurant Utility Person/Dishwasher to support back‑of‑house kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness at Knoop – the hotel's rooftop bar & cocktail lounge. Availability 3pm-11pm Mon-Fri is required.

Responsibilities include cleaning dishes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with catering setup, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. Prior experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Previous dishwashing or kitchen porter experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for long shifts.
• Availability 3pm-11pm Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Assist with catering setup/tear down.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
• Stock and label kitchen supplies and food deliveries.
• Assist serving staff with clearing tables and transporting dishes.
