Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Food Service Manager to oversee daily operations of the Food and Nutrition department at St. Luke's Medical Center.

You will coordinate patient tray preparation, delivery, and department distribution of foods and supplies, ensuring on-time service and quality standards. You will lead menu development, cost control, staff training, and HACCP compliance while managing vendor contracts and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email/internet.
• Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with problem solving and decision making.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily department operations and food program(s).
• Coordinate menus for therapeutic needs and cost/value balance; develop retail menu cycles.
• Prepare training materials and conduct staff development; onboard new staff.
• Establish and manage vendor contracts, pricing, bids and compliance.
• Generate reports, analyze data and drive improvement plans.
• Develop and implement HACCP program and department policies.
• Oversee safety inspections and maintain sanitation standards.
