Job summary

Advocate Health’s Milwaukee facility seeks an experienced Food Service Manager to oversee daily operations of the Department and the hospital food programs. You will direct menu development, staff training, and ensure quality, safety, and cost efficiency in patient meals.

The role requires HACCP knowledge, strong leadership, and hands-on oversight of a high-volume food service environment in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Typically 3 years of experience in hospital or large-scale food service.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification within 1 year.
• Experience as lead or senior staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily department operations and patient meal preparation.
• Directs menu development for therapeutic and cost-effective meals.
• Develops training materials and conducts staff orientation and ongoing education.
• Manages external vendor contracts, pricing, bids and quality standards.
• Generates reports, analyzes data, and implements improvement actions.
• Develops and enforces HACCP and safety protocols; ensures compliance with regulations.
