Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring an evening shift cook to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff, and visitors. You will follow standardized recipes, maintain sanitation, and work in a dynamic hospital kitchen environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), basic math, and good communication and teamwork. On-the-job training is provided; Serv Safe may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic math skills required.
• Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required depending upon location and time frame; additional endorsements may be required.
• BLS may be required depending on location requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, assemble baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors.
• Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
• Operates equipment and maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
• Documents HACCP steps, temperatures and outcomes to assure safety of food.
• Works with internal customers, requiring above-average communication and teamwork.
