Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a food service worker to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff and visitors in a hospital setting. You will assemble baked goods, cook and portion food while following dietary guidelines and recipes.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, labeling and storage, coordinating with team members, and adhering to HACCP standards to ensure safe, quality meals for diverse patients across the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to read, write and follow directions.
• Basic math skills required.
• Six months of experience preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Serv Safe may be required depending on location.
• Additional Serv Safe endorsements may be required by location.
• Annual continuing education in department/facility.
• BLS may be required depending on location.
• Driving may be required depending on location.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble baked goods, cook, season and portion food for patients, staff and visitors.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines, recipes and menus to ensure safe, high‑quality meals.
• Maintain sanitation, labeling and storage of food, equipment and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers and work well in a team.
• Demonstrate ability to operate kitchen equipment and manage tasks in a dynamic setting.
