Job summary

Staker Parson Companies seeks a skilled maintenance mechanic to repair and maintain construction and mechanical equipment, including trucks, bulldozers, and excavators. The role requires flexibility to work afternoon/evening shifts and perform preventative maintenance tasks.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience with heavy equipment and a valid driver's license. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to company procedures in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferably 5 years of prior experience with automotive/mechanical maintenance on construction equipment.
• Experience with Komatsu and CAT dozers, excavators, and other heavy equipment is valued.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots problems and performs durable repairs.
• Dismantles devices to access defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
• Maintains and repairs heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment.
• Performs oil changes, greasing, fluid additions, filter changes and preventative maintenance; services electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
• Orders parts and maintains purchase orders; uses computer for job functions.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Welds broken parts and maintains a clean workspace.
• May be subject to drug testing, medical exams and physical agility testing.
