Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Guest Support Services team member to join the information desks in the main lobby. This role greets patients and visitors, answers calls, issues passes, and directs inquiries with professionalism.

The position supports hospital operations by using the EPIC system, paging, and coordinated communications with clinical staff. Excellent customer service and attention to privacy are essential.

Qualifications

• Greet patients and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Explain hospital policies and direct questions to appropriate personnel.
• Accurately input and retrieve information in computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones and greets patients and visitors professionally.
• Transfers calls and assists in placing outgoing calls as needed.
• Provides visitor passes and room information.
• Escorts visitors to the Emergency Room when required.
• Notifies supervisors of supply shortages or safety concerns.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA policy.
