Job summary

FedEx Freight in Windsor, WI is hiring a Dock/Hostler associate to move freight between dock and trailers and support loading operations.

You will operate forklift and pallet jacks, verify freight documentation, secure loads, repair damaged freight, assist customers, and complete required reports while complying with safety policies. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour for the 4:30pm–9:00pm shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and lift heavy dock doors as needed.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description using the current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
