Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers, assist with loading and securing goods for shipment, and support carrier operations.

You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, verify freight documentation, and help customers as needed. Must be at least 18, HS diploma preferred, able to lift up to 100 pounds, and work in a fast-paced, sometimes loud environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without calculator.
• Ability to lift/carry frequent loads up to ~100 pounds and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across the dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck for freight handling.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat)
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
