Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading to trailers. The role includes operating forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying documentation, securing loads, and assisting customers. The position requires physical ability to lift heavy freight and work in a fast-paced dock environment.

Starting rate of pay is $22.92/hour with potential to earn up to $26.82/hour. Benefits include health, vision, dental insurance and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to 100 pounds and to open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift, several times per day.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
