Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock crew member to move freight between dock areas and trailers, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. You will verify documentation, secure loads, and support customers with freight paperwork in a fast-paced setting.

Applicants should have basic math and communication skills, be able to lift heavy loads, and work well both independently and in teams on varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Ability to lift and move freight and operate common dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, HazMat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or ropes.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed and complete reports.
• Assist customers with freight and related documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required and comply with policies.
• Work individually or as part of a team in a fast-paced dock.
