Job summary

FedEx Freight, a leading shipping and logistics provider, is seeking a warehouse associate to move freight across dock areas and trailers. Starting pay is $21.78 per hour for the shift 1700-2200, with duties including use of forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and accompanying documentation verification.

Responsibilities include securing freight for transport, recouping damaged freight when needed, assisting customers with freight paperwork, and performing hostling duties if required, all while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Able to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to lift/carry hand freight and dock plates as specified, up to several times per day.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight during shift.
• Work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials) using current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope, and other supplies.
• Recoup or repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
