Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to move freight between trailers and the dock area in a fast-paced environment. The role requires operating forklifts and manual equipment, verifying shipment details, and ensuring loads are secure for transport.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and basic math and communication skills. Ability to work varying hours and lift heavy loads is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior warehousing and freight handling experience is beneficial.
• Forklift operation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and assist customers with freight needs.
