Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight between trailers and dock areas. The role includes operating forklifts and hand trucks, verifying documentation, and securing cargo for transit. A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Starting pay is $21.78 per hour with a range up to $25.49; shift is 1700–2100 hours. Physical stamina and reliability are essential to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and heavy dock plates, per shift.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation against descriptions and weights.
• Secure freight inside trailers with straps, pallets and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
