Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a Midday General Maintenance Worker I to perform entry-level maintenance and repair duties at FLETC Charleston and Naval Weapons Station. You will support basic facility upkeep under supervision, ensuring buildings remain safe, functional, and presentable.

The role requires 2 years of maintenance experience, basic tool skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work hours are 3pm–11pm with on-call flexibility. U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in building maintenance or similar support role.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and standard maintenance practices.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced maintenance staff.
• Ability to perform physical labor, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied environments.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic maintenance tasks including minor repairs to fixtures, walls, doors, and hardware.
• Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of mechanical rooms, tool storage, and service areas.
• Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters as directed.
• Support maintenance team with tools, materials, and project setup.
• Report observed facility issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Follow safety protocols and site procedures in accordance with PWS Section C-5.B and OSHA standards.
• Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and supplies in assigned work areas.
