Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a Midday General Maintenance Worker I in Charleston, SC to perform entry-level maintenance and basic repairs under supervision. You will help keep buildings and infrastructure safe, functional, and presentable, supporting the operations at FLETC Charleston and Naval Weapons Station.

Responsibilities include assisting with fixtures, lights, and HVAC-adjacent tasks, reporting hazards, and adhering to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in building maintenance or similar role.
Basic understanding of hand tools and standard maintenance practices.
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced staff.
Ability to perform physical labor, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied environments.
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in performing basic maintenance tasks including minor repairs to fixtures, walls, doors, and hardware.
Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of mechanical rooms, tool storage, and service areas.
Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters as directed.
Support maintenance team with tools, materials, and project setup.
Report observed facility issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
Follow safety protocols and site procedures in accordance with PWS Section C-5.B and OSHA standards.
Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and supplies in assigned work areas.
