Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Registers patients for emergency services and collects all required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details and updates records as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent prior to signing.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolves questions.
• Documents when a patient cannot sign and notes nursing sign-off when applicable.
• Verifies insurance codes for accurate payment processing.
• Compiles necessary paperwork for quick retrieval of a visit.
• Places an armband on each patient for proper identification.
• Notifies department or physicians of patient arrival and follows up as needed.
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and alerts the facility.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with policies and standards.
