Beacon Health System in Elkhart, IN is hiring a full-time Evening Shift Patient Access Representative for E/R Registration at Elkhart General Hospital. You will admit and register patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and document interactions in a fast-paced, compassionate environment.

You will report to the Supervisor or Manager, work with a team, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support orderly flow of patient throughput.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must complete medical terminology course within the first year of employment.
• CHAA certification preferred.
• CMA certification highly preferred.
• Additional college coursework in medical practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for services in a professional, courteous manner following Beacon policies.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility; obtain and verify demographic/insurance information.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles; issue receipts and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist with ordering, scanning, and uploading documents into electronic records.
• Support bed control and admission-related processes as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and families.
