Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Developmental Specialist Vocational to build positive relationships with individuals and help them achieve personal goals as outlined in their individual plans.

You will assess hopes and desires, promote advocacy, and coordinate supports across community and work settings while maintaining safety and compliance. A high school diploma and valid NC driver's license are required; sleepovers and on-call activities may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience working with adults with a mental health diagnosis and/or developmental disabilities.
• Valid Driver's License (USA).

Responsibilities

• Assess individuals for hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports to help achieve them.
• Ensure rights of individuals are protected and promoted at all times.
• Assist people in developing advocacy skills and participating in advocacy efforts.
• Supervise, educate, and monitor people in work settings (community, workshops, day supports).
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Complete daily progress notes, logs, timesheets, and required documentation.
• May substitute in-house or in the community as demands occur.
• Sleepover at a residential setting may be required.
