Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center in Ohio is seeking part-time evening instructors to teach one or several HVAC/R courses. Each class runs 4–5 weeks, meeting 2 nights per week; hours 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Monday through Thursday, as needed. You will deliver instructional activities aligned with program objectives and state standards, develop lesson plans for classroom and lab settings, monitor progress with assessments, coordinate with employers for real-world experiences, and help prepare students

Qualifications

• 5 years' work experience in HVAC/R or a degree with 3 years in HVACR/maintenance.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain EPA 608 Universal, R410-A and NATE certifications.
• Valid Ohio Adult Education permit or able to obtain.
• Background check and drug-free workplace compliance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork and employability skills.
• Develops lesson plans engaging adult learners in classroom and lab.
• Monitors student progress using formal and informal assessments.
• Coordinates with employers to provide real-world experiences for students.
• Prepares students for industry credential assessments.
• Assists program coordinator with curriculum development and course scheduling.
