Job summary

The Arc Ocean County Chapter is seeking Full-Time Evening Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings in New Jersey. You’ll provide evening care, support daily routines, and help individuals grow independence while learning new skills through paid training.

Carefully follow safety practices, document daily notes, and participate in community activities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) points.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: at least one year of employment stability with a previous employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs.
• Help with personal care, meals, medication, household tasks, transportation, and other evening needs.
• Encourage individuals to participate in daily routines and complete tasks independently.
• Help individuals strengthen practical life skills, build confidence, and develop personal responsibility and independence.
• Support recreation and community outings, and progress toward individualized service plan goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home; protect dignity and respect needs.
• Document daily notes and follow safety practices as required.
