Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight within a multimodal terminal, intermodal yard, warehouse, or dock environment. You will mentor newer Material Handlers and help resolve operational issues on the floor.

The role requires a valid forklift certification and at least 3 years of dock or warehouse experience, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and efficiency. The shift runs Monday–Friday, with early morning hours and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required (or ability to obtain).
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, to understand safety and operational instructions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading activities following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and company systems.
