Balic Transport Inc. is seeking an After-Hours Dispatcher to oversee evening trucking operations. You will monitor shipments, communicate with drivers, resolve issues, and keep loads on schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Previous trucking dispatch or logistics experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of dry van trucking operations.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent driver communication regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and issues.
• Monitor active shipments and ensure on-time pickups and appointments.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, delays, or missed appointments.
• Provide timely updates to customers on shipment status and ETAs.
• Monitor Hours of Service and plan within legal driving limits.
• Coordinate repowers, driver swaps, and recovery plans as needed.
• Keep load information and statuses updated in the TMS system.
• Coordinate trailer availability and equipment needs.
• Notify operations management of major service failures or accidents.
• Deliver a detailed end-of-shift report for the next dispatch team.
• Support a smooth transition between shifts to protect service levels.
