Job summary

The DSP ensures safety and supports daily living tasks, while maintaining documentation and adhering to IGHL policies. This role requires active participation in trainings and potential coverage at other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certification preferred; maintain certifications.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform daily activities.
• Able to sit, stand or bend throughout the day; dependable and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication per certification.
• Encourages choice making and uses redirection techniques.
• Supervises self-care activities and assists as needed.
• Implements program goals and documents progress and billing.
• Provides transportation and supervision for community activities.
• Maintains logs and documentation for nursing, medication, behavior, and safety.
