Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with disabilities in our Residential Program in Edgefield, SC. The DSP role emphasizes person-centered care, skill-building, and community engagement within a 8-resident home.

You will receive thorough training, including Basic Life Support and MedTech certifications, and use Therap for progress tracking.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Adaptive, team player, and advocate for others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to up to 8 adults in an Intermediate Care Facility.
• Implement training programs and encourage independence and community engagement.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and self-care tasks.
• Prepare light meals according to designated meal plans and assist with feeding.
• Record progress and objectives using Therap; complete progress reports.
