Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in West Columbia, SC. The role supports up to four adults with disabilities in a Community Training Home, providing person-centered coaching, training, and daily living assistance.

You will learn and apply behavior support plans, assist with meals, personal care, and routine activities, and maintain progress records using Therapist.

Qualifications

• Valid SC Driver's License required.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Adaptable, a team player, and an advocate for others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to adults with disabilities in a Community Training Home.
• Implement training plans to promote independence and community engagement.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, meals, and daily living skills.
• Track objectives and progress using the Therapist system.
• Drive Burton Center vehicles after training and ensure safety.
