Job summary

SanMar Corp. Ashland, VA is seeking a DC Supervisor to manage all aspects of distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment and shipping.

You will coach hourly staff, conduct performance appraisals, and hire new employees to maintain a high-performing team. The role requires 4-6 years of warehouse experience, 1-3 years in a lead role, and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 4-6 years of warehouse experience.
• 1-3 years as a lead or supervisor.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
• Read/write ability and color/size/SKU identification; verbal communication with customers.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing priorities.
• Sound and accurate judgment; flexible and detail-oriented.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed and motivated; takes initiative to identify department needs.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate daily activities to achieve productivity, safety, quality, and knowledge targets.
• Oversee all distribution center activities to ensure accurate, timely processing and delivery of products.
• Provide day-to-day direction and development to hourly staff, including coaching, counseling, and career development.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide ongoing feedback.
• Interview and hire new employees.
• Collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity.
• Analyze business and performance trends to develop solutions, programs and policies.
• Foster a diverse and respectful work environment.
• Address employee needs with professionalism and respect.
• Manage difficult employee situations professionally.
