Job summary

Carroll Community College is seeking a part-time Custodian for the Facilities Management department. The role covers second-shift cleaning duties on a college campus, reporting to the Environmental Services Supervisor. The position is non-exempt and paid on the college's hourly scale.

Typical hours are 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays. Prior custodial experience is preferred; flexibility and PPE compliance are required for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial and/or floor cleaning experience preferred.
• Flexible regarding work location and shift.
• Ability to read and follow labels and written instructions.
• Follow directions and complete routine tasks to department standards.
• Wear PPE including safety shoes.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks as per the shift schedule.
• Respond to spills and accidents and document activities.
• Clean restricted-access areas.
• Vacuum, spot-clean, and shampoo carpets in assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop and scrub non-carpet floors.
• Dust furniture and clean walls, rails, doors and boards.
• Move furniture/equipment to access floors.
• Clean and sanitize lavatories and restrooms.
• Replace supplies and dispose of trash.
• Wash windows and inside glass.
• Maintain cleaning equipment.
• Assist with event setups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
