Job summary

West Michigan Janitorial is seeking a reliable Custodian/Janitor to maintain cleanliness in schools throughout West Michigan. You will perform cleaning tasks including restroom sanitation, floor care, and waste disposal.

Shift options: 4:00pm–7:00pm or 9:00pm, Monday through Friday, with 3- or 5-hour routes; no experience required, training provided, and background check is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with managers and staff.
• Able to walk, stand, and perform cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and operate basic cleaning equipment.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Keep school facilities clean and stocked.
• Sanitize restrooms and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Mop and sweep floors; dust surfaces.
• Clean windows and glass; manage cleaning supplies.
• Inventory and restock supplies as needed.

Requirements of Custodian/Janitor:

• No Experience, No Problem!
• Effectively communicate with manager and other staff regarding issues and supply needs
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to use motorized equipment (vacuum, hand operated floor cleaners)
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety related materials
• Must be able to pass a background check & fingerprinting

Role of Custodian/Janitor:

• Maintaining the cleanliness of schools
