Job summary

WMJ Services is seeking an Evening Custodian/Janitor to maintain the cleanliness of commercial buildings in West Michigan. The role involves cleaning, stocking, sanitizing restrooms, and handling trash/recycling with a focus on attention to detail. No prior experience is required.

Training is provided. A background check must be passed. The shift runs 3:30pm to 12:00am, Monday through Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, life, dental, vision, paid vacation, sick days,

Job Skills / Requirements

Requirements of Custodian/Janitor:

• No Experience, No Problem!
• Effectively communicate with manager and other staff regarding issues and supply needs
• Attention to detail a must! Customer facing role.
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, lots of walking in this role
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to use motorized equipment (vacuum, hand operated floor cleaners)
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety related materials
• Must be able to pass a background check

Role of Custodian/Janitor:

• Maintaining the cleanliness of a commercial building
• Cleaning, stocking and sanitizing several restrooms
• Disposing of trash & recycling which requires lots of bending and stooping
• Cleaning of stairwells
• Mopping & sweeping floors
• Dusting and surface cleaning
• Windows and glass cleaning
• Inventory management of supplies

Custodians/Janitors have daily exposure to cleaning solutions.

Shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am (Monday through Friday)
