Job summary

Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking a Custodian I for the 2nd shift in Atlanta, GA. The role involves routine housekeeping in an assigned area, working with other custodial staff and occupants to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in facilities.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, classrooms and common areas, restocking supplies, and operating a range of cleaning equipment. A one-year related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic housekeeping skills including operation of cleaning equipment and use of cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provide housekeeping services within assigned area, including trash removal, dusting, spot cleaning, restroom disinfection, restocking supplies, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming.
• Operate and maintain power cleaning equipment such as vacuums and spot cleaning machines.
• Maintain clean, organized housekeeping/storage closets and tools.
• Use prescribed safety equipment as required.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and per guidelines.
• Respond to work requests from occupants and the service system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
