Job summary

Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform routine housekeeping in assigned buildings. The role involves collaborating with custodial staff and other occupants to maintain a clean, safe campus environment.

Responsibilities include trash removal, dusting, cleaning restrooms, stocking supplies, mopping, sweeping, and operating cleaning equipment. Requires high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience. This is a 2nd shift position.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of job related experience.
• Basic skills in delivery of housekeeping services including operation of cleaning equipment and use of cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provide housekeeping services within assigned area, including: emptying of trash receptacles, dusting, spot cleaning, cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, medical and food service care, restocking supplies, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming.
• Operate and maintain power equipment which may include carpet vacuums, canister and tank vacuums, wide-area vacuums, backpack vacuums, spot cleaning machines and other powered equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping/storage closets, tools and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
• Utilize prescribed safety equipment as required.
• Utilize chemicals and supplies in a safe and prescribed manner.
• Respond to work request from building occupants and the department's service request system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
