Job summary

HES Facilities is seeking a Custodial Supervisor in Virginia to lead daily cleaning operations at our educational partner sites. You will schedule staff, monitor quality, and ensure safety compliance while maintaining high service standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, on-the-job training, and coordination with managers to secure supplies and respond to building emergencies. High School Diploma required; prior supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of custodians and coordinate daily operations.
• Experience delivering safety training and enforcing safety practices.
• Ability to train staff on equipment use and cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize, schedule, and assign daily work routines for custodial staff.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure proper use of PPE; investigate incidents as needed.
• Provide on-the-job training for new staff and ongoing coaching for current employees.
• Manage equipment and consumables; ensure supply availability for staff.
• Communicate requests, work orders, and updates to management and staff.
• Coordinate responses for building emergencies (fire, flood, snow/ice) during and after hours.
• Plan and oversee major cleaning operations and projects with managers.
