Job summary

Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization providing housing and services to seniors in a Christian environment. The Larimore facility seeks cooks for evening shifts on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling and 401K retirement options.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and possibly Serv Safe and BLS depending on location. Join our dietary team and help prepare meals that meet dietary requirements, while maintaining HACCP standards and sanitation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions; basic math.
• Six months of applicable kitchen experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
• Serv Safe certification may be required; BLS may be required depending on location.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, assembles baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff and visitors.
• Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
• Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment and machinery.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to prepare, store and use food safely.
• Operates equipment such as mixers, kettles, ovens, grinders and dishwashers.
