Job summary

Marvin is seeking an Evening Controls Technician to diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical, and PLC-related issues on production equipment. The role includes PLC programming with Allen-Bradley RSLogix and hands-on troubleshooting, with the plant documenting issues in the EAM system.

The position starts with day-shift training for up to 2 months, then transitions to evening shifts. Offers health insurance from day one, PTO, holidays, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus, plus strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field preferred.
• Must obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of equipment to detect hazards and service needs.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with RSLogix 500/5000 for PLCs.
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance in the EAM system.
• Trace problems using electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff.
• Maintain backups of PLC programs.
• Evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Set up servo controls and VFD parameters.
• Troubleshoot motors (Servo, DC, Induction).
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements.
• Provide PLC support across the plant.
• Document set-points and parameters clearly.

The Evening Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday (OT on Fridays as needed)

• 4:00pm - 2:00am

Highlights of your role:

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.

Compensation: $28.00 - $42.00/hr, based on experience + $2 shift differential
