Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a CNC Operator to set up and run state‑of‑the‑art CNC mills and lathes, producing precision metal components. You will read blueprints, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, and work with engineers to improve processes on a 2:30 PM–11:00 PM shift.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years CNC experience, an ability to interpret drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• 2–5 years CNC experience preferred.
• Experience with CNC mills or lathes and reading blueprints.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tune CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
• Read blueprints and work instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Perform part inspections using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to improve processes and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment with a focus on quality and consistency.
