Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Journeyman Machinist to join our manufacturing team. You will set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machines, interpreting complex blueprints and fixtures to produce precision parts for diverse projects.

You will troubleshoot equipment, optimize programs, and ensure strict quality control using precision gauges. Veterans are encouraged to apply and safety is prioritized in a structured work environment.

Qualifications

• Requires journeyman status and CNC apprenticeship; strong blueprint interpretation and CAM proficiency.
• 7+ years of experience in machine operation with ability to set up and program CNC machines.
• Ability to mentor and coach other machinists; strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain multiple machine centers (lathes and mills) to execute complex projects.
• Program CNC machines, run trials, and revise programs to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Interpret blueprints, design fixtures, and fabricate parts to meet specifications.
