Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the PM shift to provide routine nursing care under supervision. The role emphasizes resident safety, dignity, and adherence to facility policies while building rapport with residents and families.

The ideal candidate holds a CA CNA licence, has at least 6 months of CNA experience or clinical CNA training, and demonstrates compassion, patience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• CA CNA Licence required.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical experience in CNA training.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, cheerful disposition and empathy.
• Must be in good general health with emotional stability.
• Must relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned and per facility policies and procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide quality nursing care.
• Verify resident identification before care or feeding to ensure correct care.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Serve water and maintain hydration for residents.
• Dress residents and assist with dressing as necessary.
• Assist in preparing residents for meals and feeding as needed.
• Serve nourishment in accordance with facility procedures.
• Feed residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Ensure resident food is accessible and self-help devices are available.
• Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc., including transport.
• Keep incontinent residents clean and dry; change linens and clothing as needed.
• Report hazards and discuss concerns with the Charge Nurse.
• Attend in-service educational programs and meetings as directed.
• Other related duties as directed.
