Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide routine nursing care under the direction of nursing leadership. The role emphasizes resident safety, personal care, and assisting with activities of daily living in accordance with facility policies.

The CNA will participate in rounds, assist with meals, maintain hygiene, and support therapy and activities scheduling, while reporting any concerns to the Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or have a CNA license.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical CNA class experience.
• Desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Read, write and speak English.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Demonstrate patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm with residents at their current maturity level.
• Be in good general health with emotional stability.
• Able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and at times hostile individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and procedures and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide care.
• Verify resident identity before care or meals.
• Make beds and clean bedside tables.
• Serve water and keep feeding areas clean and reachable.
• Dress residents and assist with dressing as needed.
• Assist in preparing residents for meals and feeding when necessary.
• Provide nourishment per facility procedures and support self-feeding.
• Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, or religious services and transport as needed.
• Keep incontinent residents clean and dry; change linens and clothing as required.
• Ensure nurse call system is connected to bed and accessible.
• Respond promptly to call lights and report issues to Charge Nurse.
• Report any bruises, skin issues or injuries; report hazards and faulty equipment.
• Attend in-service training and other duties as directed.
